The Mackay Choral Society is the place to be.
Rehearsals
Every Monday at 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
The Ken Martin Choral Centre.
Snow Wright Ct. Beaconsfield
(next to the BMX track).
Extra rehearsals may be called, especially in the final weeks before a major production.
These are usually Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:30 PM
Uniforms will always be worn for Eisteddfod. Other performances may have some variation at the
discretion of the Choral Society Committee.
The Benefits
A modern comfortable rehearsal venue is provided and maintained by The Mackay Choral Society.
All music is supplied. You will gain the benefit of learning music, and singing in a
healthy manner under the guidance of professional musical director.
Our plan is to then enable you to confidently be able to present yourself, along with other
choristers in professional performances, that both you, and the audience will enjoy, and
remember. In addition to this you will meet and form new friendships, with other
people who share a common interest.
The Costs
Annual Membership fee: $10
Weekly subscription: $5
Payable once a week to the honour box supplied.
Uniform for Ladies: approximately $130
Gentlemen: a little less
Plus, Travel expenses to the North Queensland Eisteddfod
Tickets, Program, etc.
Choir folder: $9.50, Choir Badge: $5
Music is supplied free of charge, however the Mackay Choral Society reserves the right to charge
for any music that has not been returned at the end of a final performance. Music is very expensive!!
